OUR CAUSE
The Foundation stems from the spirit of ‘ubuntu’ - a love of community, the environment, and wildlife. Hambai Wild Foundation is a community-based Non-Profit Organisation with three pillars:

COMMUNITY
Communities are an essential component of our conservation efforts. By harnessing the wealth of generational knowledge and culture that exists in communities, Hambai Wild strives to develop an inclusive way of conserving nature and wildlife through awareness campaigns and initiatives to promote alternative livelihoods to environmental crime and poaching.

GREEN/BLUE SPACES
Preserving, protecting, and creating green/blue spaces is a vital component of conservation and mitigating climate change. The nature we enjoy today is borrowed from future generations. Hambai Wild seeks to facilitate community-driven tree planting, conserve nature, and capacitate rangers to ensure that green/blue spaces are safe for nature, wildlife, and people.

WILDLIFE
Wildlife is an existential part of our heritage and culture in Zimbabwe. Protecting wildlife and ensuring that we establish and maintain safe havens for wildlife that is rescued and rehabilitated from poaching/trade is important. Hambai Wild seeks to establish a balance between community engagement, alternative livelihoods, policy, and legislation to disrupt the Illegal Wildlife Trade.
Climate Change Mitigation & Habitat Protection
Our climate change mitigation and habitat protection initiative seeks to rewild forests, protected areas, and communal lands with flora and fauna in Zimbabwe.
Sustainable Development
The economic environment in which we live combined with a lack of appreciation for nature and wildlife often exacerbates environmental and wildlife crimes.
Awareness
Awareness drives that are inclusive and powered with the community, nature, and wildlife in mind, are at the heart of Hambai Wild.
